Westfield Academy
New design/structure that utilises our events system, with hierarchical access levels for staff.
Who are they?
Westfield Academy is a very successful secondary school in Yeovil, judged as “Good” at their most recent Ofsted inspection in 2014.
What did they need?
“Our design is outdated and does not reflect the school’s brand and image effectively. It also doesn’t work effectively on mobile devices.
“The current CMS (Content Management System) is very basic and has restrictive functionality, not giving the staff and administrators the control required to update the website effectively. This not only reduces the user experience for both parents, staff and students but also increases the amount of time taken to manage our site’s content.”
What was the solution?
As well as a new “responsive” design (enabling easy viewing from mobile, tablets, desktop through to large monitor screens) we rebuilt the site with a completely new structure to allow easier access to key information.
Key staff members now have appropriate access levels within the admin panel to manage their website’s content (using an authorisation system where appropriate). We incorporated our “events system” to allow users to see the various events on offer, with the facility to register their interest, along with a facility for various events to take payment if applicable. Also included are specialist modules for photo galleries and blog functionality.
