Kontrolit is expanding.  We’re about to move into a new office space, and we need a Web Developer & Digital Marketing Manager to join our talented team of designers, developers, and digital marketing experts.

We are a web design, development and digital marketing company based in Yeovil, Somerset.  We’re true veterans of the ‘world wide web’ as one of the pioneers of the Dot-Com revolution, working with businesses to help them take advantage of the opportunities being online can bring since 1998.  At the center of all of our sophisticated and scalable websites is our bespoke, modular CMS - ‘Kit’ - putting our customers firmly in the driving seat, with the safety net of our expertise consistently in the background.

Web Developer

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Location: Yeovil
  • Salary & Benefits: £30K - £40K - Dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing

We’ll be looking to you to utilise your working knowledge in PHP/ASP.NET, MVC, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure that we’re delivering the most appropriate web solutions to our customers and, from having worked in similar roles previously, you’ll understand the importance of sticking to timeframes and to budget.  You’ll be expected to work with the wider team to provide detailed specifications for our bespoke client projects, and you’ll be on hand to provide after-sales support when our clients need you.

Key to your success will be proactively staying on top of new technologies, trends and legal requirements.  We pride ourselves on keeping our team up-to-date with their Google certifications to keep our clients at the top of the search engines, and our developers are regularly combing industry sites to stay a step ahead of the competition.

What you’ll know

  • Essential Concepts: APIs/Web Services - SOAP/REST, Object Oriented Programming, MVC, Relational Databases.
  • Useful Concepts: ORM
  • Essential Skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL.
  • Useful Skills: Bootstrap, LESS/Sass, Visual Studio, SQL, Server Management Studio, .NET, C#, ASP.NET, PHP (Symfony).
  • Bonus Skills: GIT/TFS, Babel, Node/NPM, Grunt/Gulp/Webpack, Vue/React/Angular, NHibernate/Entity Framework/Eloquent.

Digital Marketing Manager

What you’ll be doing

This is a completely ‘hand on’ position, and we’ll be looking to you to become the ‘go to’ person for all things digital marketing and digital advertising for a variety of our clients.  You’ll work with the wider Kontrolit team to create, plan and implement integrated campaign strategies, underpinned by SEO and content optimisation.  You’ll also be responsible for analysing and utilising insights to help our clients get in front of their ideal customers consistently.

Who you’ll be?

You’ll have worked in a similar role previously and have proven experience in spearheading successful PPC campaigns across a variety of social platforms.  You’ll have adaptable copywriting skills, that have the capability to capture the individual ‘voice’ of each of our clients.  We are looking for SEO experience to compliment your creativity.  You’ll be analytical and capable of utilising insights and performance to drive future results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrated campaign planning
  • Working with the wider team on strategy development, to include valuable input in meetings
  • Working with multiple clients to develop and enhance their digital marketing strategy
  • Effectively carrying out SEO on a variety of websites
  • Link profiling and optimisation
  • Onsite content optimisation
  • Producing and analysing monthly reports
  • Become the ‘go to’ expert on social media, digital marketing and digital advertising
  • Performing Technical analysis on website performance
  • Working with the team to shape the future development of our CMS ‘Kit’

And all other relevant duties as deemed reasonable by the needs of the business.

Person Specification

  • Some proven SEO experience
  • Experience of managing successful PPC campaigns
  • Understanding of performance marketing, conversion and online customer acquisition
  • Copywriting skills
  • Social media advertising and insights experience
  • Ability to work well within a small team
  • Strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret and utilise insights
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2 years’ experience within a similar role
