Yeovil Country Park Website Design & Development
Who they are
Yeovil Country Park is a 63-hectare green space on the edge of Yeovil, with woodland trails, waterfalls, riverside paths and wide open views across the surrounding countryside. It’s a popular place for walks, wildlife spotting, family time and community events, looked after by a small, hands-on ranger team and volunteers.
What the website does
We designed the Yeovil Country Park website to make planning a visit straightforward. Visitors can quickly find practical information like parking, EV charging, toilets, dog-friendly guidance, cycling rules, Ninesprings Café details, and clear directions. There are dedicated sections for general visitor information, downloadable walking maps and guides, FAQs and safety advice, plus an interactive habitat map that highlights key wildlife spots and points of interest around the park.
Easy for the team to update
The site runs on KIT CMS, so the ranger team can keep everything up to date themselves. They can add or change events, tweak opening times, upload new walking guides and education leaflets, publish posts on the Rangers’ Blog, and update accessibility or visitor guidance whenever they need to. That means the website always reflects what’s really happening on the ground, without waiting for a developer.
Supporting engagement
The website is set up to help people do more than just visit. Clear routes into events, volunteering, donations, education resources and the Rangers’ Blog make it easy for the community to get involved and support the park. A detailed FAQ section covers common questions on things like BBQs, drones, dogs, cycling and incident reporting, helping visitors use the park responsibly. “Meet the Rangers” profiles put names and faces to the team, building trust and a stronger connection with regular visitors.
Accessible and mobile-friendly
The site is fully responsive, so visitors can check maps, opening times, café details and FAQs easily on a phone while they’re out, or on a larger screen when planning a day out. An accessibility section explains the different landscapes around the site and where access is easier or more challenging, so visitors with mobility needs, buggies or young children can choose routes that work best for them.
The result
The new website gives Yeovil Country Park a clean, welcoming and easy-to-manage online presence that fits the quality of the park itself. Staff can keep information accurate and current through KIT CMS, and visitors get clear, practical guidance on facilities, routes, wildlife, events and ways to support the park. It helps the site function as both a local day-out destination and a long-term community and conservation asset for Yeovil.
