Is Your Ecommerce Platform Holding You Back?
Will I lose my products, orders, or customer data during migration?
Not necessarily — we’ll talk through what you need to keep. Some clients choose to leave historical orders and customer data behind to save on costs, and instead keep the old site running on a subdomain for a few months to tidy up. We’ll guide you through the options and make sure you’re comfortable with the approach.
How long does it take to migrate an ecommerce site?
Most migrations take between 12 to 20 weeks, depending on your current setup and the complexity of your new site. We’ll provide a clear plan and timeline from the start, so you know what to expect.
Will moving to a new platform affect my Google rankings or PPC campaigns?
Our in-house digital marketing team will work alongside our developers to make sure your SEO is protected and advise on any PPC impact. We handle redirects, maintain URL structure where possible, and support you through any changes in tracking or campaign setup.
Can you migrate my site from [Shopify / WooCommerce / Magento]?
Yes — we’ve successfully migrated clients from all the major ecommerce platforms. We’ll audit your current site, plan the move, and make sure everything runs smoothly from go-live through to post-launch support.
Getting your products into KIT CMS
Our bespoke KIT CMS includes built-in tools for importing product data in bulk via CSV — including names, prices, descriptions, categories, and stock levels.
If you’ve only got a small product range, it’s often quicker for us to add items manually during the build. But for larger catalogues, we’ll work closely with you — and your current supplier if needed — to extract the data in a format ready for import.
We’ll also discuss early on whether you need to transfer customer accounts or historical orders. Some clients choose to skip this step to reduce cost and complexity. In those cases, we can keep the old site live on a subdomain for a few months, giving you time to finish processing orders or access old data before switching it off.
What happens after launch?
We don’t disappear once the site is live. You'll have access to support for any early-day tweaks, training on the CMS, and help with promotions or product updates as needed. Our developers and marketing team are still on hand — just as they were throughout the build.
Protecting your SEO and PPC performance
Your website's visibility is just as important as its content. That’s why our in-house digital marketing team is involved from the start.
They’ll help plan your URL redirects, preserve your Google rankings, and advise on any changes needed to your PPC campaigns. This joined-up approach helps avoid the common pitfalls that can harm search performance during a replatform.
A smooth launch — with no surprises
We don’t just flip the switch and hope for the best. Before go-live, we run through full dry runs, test the checkout process, import sample data, and review everything with you in advance.
We’ll agree a launch date that suits your business and plan the final switchover for a quiet period, typically out of hours, to avoid any disruption. In most cases, downtime is minimal or not needed at all.
We’ll handle the technical details
As part of the migration, we’ll manage any necessary DNS or domain changes, including pointing your domain to the new platform and ensuring your email continues to work without interruption. If you’re not sure what’s involved, don’t worry — we’ll walk you through it all.
A proven team you can trust
We’ve been helping businesses replatform for over 20 years. Because we design, build, and market ecommerce websites in-house, you get a joined-up approach with no finger-pointing between agencies. Just one team focused on your success.
Whether you’re growing fast, stuck on an outdated platform, or just need something more flexible — we’ll help you make the move with confidence.
