A blog (a contraction of the term "Web log") is a Web site or part of a site, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.
Blogs can be used by company employees, teams, or spokespersons to share their views. It is often used to announce new products and services (or the end of old products), to explain and clarify policies, or to react to public criticism on certain issues. It also allows a window into the company culture and is often treated more informally than traditional press releases, though a business blog often tries to accomplish similar goals as press releases do.
