Social Networking Syndication
Kontrolit 3.14 now integrates up with popular social networking sites Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter giving you the option to update your profile and status on these sites as and when you create new documents from your website’s admin panel.
Simply add the right Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter account details in your website settings, then when creating documents you are given a new panel of options for syndication. When the document is authorised, Kontrolit sends an update to Facebook, LinkedIn and / or Twitter.
There is no need to login to your Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter account to make an update to your profile about new content on your web site. Everything can now be handled and updated from one place.
Social Networking Syndication with Short URLs
This was added in conjunction with the syndication work. The syndicate sites all limit the number of characters you can submit in a post / tweet. Therefore, when posting links these sometimes used more characters than you’re allowed. Kontrolit now includes a setting for a bit.ly account, which if set up, automatically translates long URLs into short URLs.
For example a link such as:
http://www.thisisalonglink.com/this/is/a/really/long/link_to_a_page.htm
Could become:
http://bit.ly/cyL1qd
Avatars in Forum and Private Messages
Avatars were always allowed and displayed in the forum, but were only displayed on the forum post details. To try and help easily distinguish between users posts, avatars are now included throughout the forum on the topic pages etc. and also in the private messages area.
Gravatar
What is a Gravatar and what are they doing on Kontrolit?
Gravatar is a website whereby you can register an email address and upload an associated avatar. On many websites you are often offered the ability to leave a comment without having to register, Kontrolit has such a comments feature. If you leaving a comment on a Kontrolit site, and you have an email address registered with Gravatar, your global avatar can now be shown alongside your post.
OpenSearch
OpenSearch is a collection of simple formats for the sharing of search results.

Gallery & Shop Image Styling
The Gallery module has been restyled. A new larger image zoom has been implemented to give your gallery a classier feel. The same styling used in the Gallery has also been implemented in the Shop module for viewing larger product images.
Drop Down Menu Component
Kontrolit now offers a new drop down horizontal menu style as a standard component. This new component type uses JQuery animation for a smooth, cross browser compatible, contemporary menu style.
Transparent Images
You are now able to upload transparent images via the Image Manager. This new feature allows you more flexibility in your designs and page layouts.
